The truth is, you have to face challenges and adversity on a regular basis. It takes courage to pursue your dream. It takes courage to live your life.
It means doing what you have to do even though you feel afraid. I love the way The Strange Familiar expresses this theme.

Buck says, "Fear is paralysis at the brainstem level." Thanks for this post. I had never heard of "The Strange Familiar." They express this timeless truth is a very nice package.
First time I heard this it went something like: Do what you should do, when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not. Then of course I discovered the Serenity Prayer, which has been around for 100 years or so: God grant me the courage to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Nothing new under the sun, I guess. Bill C.
